WACOM Drivers in OSX...Problem?!

Hi I just bought a new Wacom like Leonis's purple one and started to use it in osx.
Is it just me or are the drivers crappy?
The moving of winodws around feels "slippery", cpu usage is high, finder locks up sometimes and in pen mode u cant ajust the cursor speed.

Do any of you guys have these probs?

Cause its making me regret buying this tablet!

I have no problems at all with my tablet under OS X :)

Make sure you are using the latest driver. Like 4-7-1.8

Any version before this was very unstable.

Leonis I have the latest drivers, my mac is a g3 400 b/w with 640 megs.

How do I mac the tablet while in pen mode scroll qwik?

What do you mean???

BTW. My tablet is the first generation of Intuos SE. It's graphite, not purple ;)

I think he said -

how do i make the tablet scroll quickly while in pen mode?

not sure since i don't have one yet and so don't know exactly how they work. It's on my wishlist. almost bought one when compuware went out of business but they wouldn't take more than 10% off. i've seen 'em on regular sales forless but never when i had the $$$.

There are 2 modes, mouse mode and pen mode.
Mouse mode seems to recognise mouse acceleration and can move faster, but when I click pen mode it seems to only stay in one speed mode, thats slow.

Now, pen mode to me though seems far more fluid and smooth, mouse mode seems erratic and "slippery" when moving windows.

I'm getting worried cause Leonis seems to not be having a prob.

Leonis do u set your pen to mouse mode or pen mode when doing normal everyday tasks like natigating through finder, browsing etc...?

OK now Leonis is there a way to actually change the speeds when in "PEN MODE"?

Another thing -

Leonis how would you rate the feeling of using a wacom (i.e Speed, smoothness, reaction responce) in osx to os9?

Same, near, poor?

The cursor under Mouse mode is very fast but very smooth...

The attachement shows you how to set up the cursor speed under mouse mode...hope it helps

When in pen mode you can adjust to set the stylus to work under 'absolute' or 'relative'.....

'relative' is like moving the mouse....

'absolute' is that the entire surface is mapped to the screen. Four corners of the tablets equal to the four corners of the screen
