Waking from sleep on Wallstreet PB

I've searched this site as well as Apple's and haven't found anyone with this situation.

I've been using my Wallstreet Powerbook (266 Mhz, 384MB RAM, Kensington ADB Orbit) with Mac OS 9.2.1 and Mac OS X 10.1 without a problem since the release of 10.1. I put the PB to sleep when I'm through using it for the day, and I do this via the Apple Menu and leave the screen up.

For the past few days, my screen would not illuminate upon waking up. If I looked at the screen from the right angle, I can barely make out a ghost image, and I was able to restart using the Apple Menu. This continues to be the case.

I do not have an external monitor. I have the OEM CD-ROM drive in one bay, and a VST Zip 100 in the other. I swapped the Zip drive for the battery, and there was no change.

I'm open to any suggestions...Thanks!
