Want to install tiger on a G3 imac 500mhz

This machine is original other than it will have 512 ram. Will there be any problems. I work on PC's and am learning my way around macs but just want to be sure. All of my sources for information are pc.
 
You shouldn't have a problem, as long as your iMac is physically capable of reading a Tiger install CD/DVD. I have Tiger installed and running fine on a 450Mhz G4 tower.
