Warcraft III Problems

Hey,

Is anyone else having lots of crashes with WC3? I've experienced two different kinds. The most frequent happens when the game goes into an infinite loop playing the same second of info over and over again. The second crash happens when I leave the game and go for a drink and the screen saver goes into effect sending the game into a black screen locking the system. Both force me to restart and are a pain in the ass.

I've even installed all the available patches via battlenet.

I've restarted my computer more in the past 72 hours than I have in the past 2 months.
 
While i have experienced no crashes yet with WC3 i suggest to you to try running it in MacOS 9.

I play it in OS9 (WC3 and UT are the only reasons for me to boot in OS9 :D) - it's much smoother gameplay in OS9 then in OSX on my iMac (G4, 700) and i don't had a single crash
 
I think that's a somewhat well known bug that just hasn't been fixed yet. I've seen a few posts by PC users at other msg boards saying that the crash happened on their machine. I had it happen on mine earlier this week when I was playing the undead campaign, I was scrolling to give an order, and then suddenly the screen just went black w/ a sound loop which ended up forcing me to restart. The only other crash I've experienced in X, is the game quitting to the desktop which seems to happen randomly. Lately I haven't had any problems, but I've been saving a lot more frequently when playing the campaigns. I sure hope Blizz gets this bug fixed sometime, as I'm not booting into 9 just to play one game.
 
in the beta the info loops would be due to the comp having the lowest requirements. (as what hapens with starcraft when you run it on a performa :D ) But i think bliz is working on it. but tell then boot to 9 :rolleyes: :eek:
 
I've never had problems running starcraft on my old performa during a friendly lan game.

Plus my computer is above the minimums. I have a G4 400. Whereas minimums are a G3.
