web design cross platform testing

I'm a web designer that has just recently switched over to Mac. I'm loving it so far, but the one thing I'm a little concerned about being able to check my work on a PC platform.

I need the ability to check my designs on different platforms and resolutions. Does anyone know of a program designed to help assist in this process?

Thanks.

Depends on how you want to "check" your work. If you want to view just use a web browser (use Firefox, IE and maybe one more)

We need more info in order to help you...

I need the ability to see what the website looks like on a PC using IE. I also need to test it at different resolutions and screen colors.

I use Dreamweaver, Textmate and Photoshop for development.

If you've just switched over and maybe have a new Intel Mac, you can install WindowsXP on it using either Apple's BootCamp or Parallels Work Station.

I've been a web developer for 10 years and have struggled with the same problem. Last April, I bought a new MacBook Pro and it's my primary development machine -- heck, it's my primary computer for everything I do!

I run Apache, MySQL and PHP on the machine and build fully dynamic web sites while sitting in a coffee shop most of the day. Let me tell you, Mac OS X is a web developer's dream come true.

As for testing in Windows, Parallels all the way, man! It's a bit of an investment, but really not that much. Parallels lets you run Windows in a "window" so that you don't have to leave the Mac environment (like Bootcamp) in order to test sites in the various browsers in Windows. It's phenomenal, you should try it -- but you'll need an Intel-based Mac to use it.

For me, the only way to really test a website on a pc in IE is to use a pc for the task. Bought a Dell laptop for this. Parallels or Bootcamp should work, though.
