This a.m. I got on my web site fine-"betterphoto.com" using user & password. later on it would not let me on even w/correct user-password-keeps telling me that web site does not have me in their data bank. I got onto it on my apple g-4 and on my IPAD2 OKAY. I talked by e-mail w/people of the web sit and they say all is good on their end. Maybe should I download and re-install LION AGAIN ? Kind of weird, just one web site w/prob. and it's on my mac WORKSTATION. ALL ELSE IS OPERATING FINE.
anyone-any ideas????????

in not being able to log in to my web site-betterphoto.com-The problem is within LION; Because I can go into my Apple g-4 with o.s. 10.5.8 and access the web site fine and upload pictures etc. I have downloaded and reinstalled lion 2 times w/ same result of not being able to get on the web site. user & password have been verified for sure.
anyone got an answer???????

I'd start by clearing out any cookies related to the betterphoto.com site.
Go to Safari/Preferences, then Privacy, and click on the little "Details" button under "Cookies and other website data". You can type in "better photo" to search for entries specifically for that web site. Delete all entries for that web site. Then, exit the preferences, and try the better photo web site. It will not remember you at all, so you will have to enter your info, whatever you need to log in to that site.

BTW, I think you would be wasting your time reinstalling Lion, just for a single web site.
Do you have other browsers installed on your Mac? FireFox, Chrome, OmniWeb, etc, etc?
Try that site with a different web browser. If it's a general problem in your system, then you shouldn't get to betterphoto.com with any other browser, either.
I think you will find that it works in Safari after removing the cookie files for that site, so it's a good next step...

deltamac-thanks for info., I did exactly what you suggested-twice-; but it did not work. Any other ideas ?

I suggested two different things - cookies; or a different browser.
Which other browsers did you try?

I'm too fast! (for a change ...)
Glad you got that figured out.
I expect that Lion, like any major update, would have a few settings that will reset to defaults. It's just a matter of digging them out. Glad you're working again!

So its odd that clicking or unclicking something that says "Java" would have that big of an effect.

On a different topic: I don't know if I'm going to like this cloud based stuff (at least not yet). My internet pipe is the size of a soda straw.

But then, Dickster said he turned on javascript (or turned Off, I can't really tell), and a site that requires javascript enabled, would not work properly with javascript turned off. That could end up being a big effect, eh?
Then again, javascript is not related to Java in any way, other than the name.
Don't get those two confused - more than they already are...

Ahh.. my bad.

He wrote "java script app" -- which I parsed as "Java script app" instead of "Javascript app". (Java, after all, is a scripting language even if it doesn't really want to admit to it.)

My faith in the unJava world has been restored!
