Well, that's new.....

In all my years using OS X, I've never seen anything like this. It was more than a crash, but not a kernel panic. I had left a download going overnight, and when I came back, I couldn't get my monitor to wake up.

I tried command-option-escape, command-option-shift-escape (like that EVER works when you need it...) and command-control-power. No effect.

Hardware power button, no effect. And it seems the Mac mini has no hard reset button (grrrr), so I unplugged it. When I turned it back on, I got a message saying "The computer was restarted after Mac OS X quit unexpectedly" , with a button to report the error to Apple (which I did). I didn't know an OS could "quit unexpectedly".

I took some screenshots of the messages for your viewing pleasure. :)

Yup. had that happen to me too after a heat related kernel panic. I sent the report to apple, although I don't think they'll look at it too much.
