What Airport Card fits in iMac (graphite) G3?

I just bought two graphite G3 iMacs. What Airport card fits in it? It has a slot for it, but the new extreme card won't work. If you know what I need, do you know where I can order them?

You need the original AirPort card from Apple, which is no longer in production and has a high street value:

You can find cheaper prices with a little Googling. Make sure you get the AirPort card adaptor piece as well, as it's required for installation in your model iMac:

Be aware that the original AirPort cards such as these use an older 802.11b protocol, which only transfers data at 11mb/sec (as opposed to AirPort Extreme 802.11g, which can go in excess of 20+mb/sec), which makes for pretty slow file sharing with other wireless computers, but totally suitable for broadband internet use.

Watch the price, these often go for more than the original retail value. You can also get one from an authorized factory service center. Although they are not made anymore, they are available as service parts.
 
didn't someone make an aftermarket airport card at one time? i seem to remember seeing one, the price was the same if not lower than that of apple when you could get the apple cards new, but didn't have the money at the time to get it. it was made with the same chip set as apple's card, if not by the same people, so they garrented that it would work.
 
i see that it would work. but it was not the one i was thinking of, they were marketing it as an airport replacement for older macs.
so does that mean that the old airport slot is really an internal pcmcia slot? and if i buy a card from that list and the drivers, i would work?
 
why use up a usb slot when i have a perfectly good empty airport slot? and if the airport slot is really a pcmcia slot, why not get one and special drivers and surf away?
