I wonder if Apple has plans for a higher end version of the iMac with a 17" panel, faster G4 (maybe even two), bigger HD etc...?

Or maybe even a differentiation within the range - like the new iBook...

I'd have to say no. If they didn't announce it today, they won't be planning any upgrades for a while.
 
Possibly not for a while, certainly.

btw, has anyone else noticed that the ALT tags for the iMac picture in the UK Apple Store says "iMac P80 Family"?

I thought the US Apple store was the same, but this morning it says "iMac G4 Family"...
