What are those auctions on eBay about that sell info on how to get free Mac hardware

I was browsing and on eBay and noticed a numerous amount of auctions selling information on how to get free hardware like Cinema Display or info how to get a free digital camcorder.

I, personally, don't believe that there is such a thing as a free lunch and wouldn't bid one of these auctions.

But I was just curious as to what these auctions were all about.

Anyone?
 
They are scams for the most part. One of the requirements is a business license. Basically you tell a company you're a retailer that is interested in their product. The company will then send you the product you are interested in in hopes you'll start selling it.

There is a lot of red tape to work through and companies such as Apple are very selective as to whom sells their products.

Thanks for the explanation. I knew it was sorta scam, but was just curious as too what the plot was.

I guess it's sorta like a asking for a free demo unit for your fake retail store location.
