So what does he really have? Mac OS 8.x or does he have OS X?
 
Ohh opps, he really said OSX.4.8 in the school forums, not OSX.8!! Sorry for the typo, but it is really Mac OS X 10.4.8 Tiger in Apple-speak.

BUt meh, like in my sig, I just call mine Tiger.8
 
Maybe we should simply start writing to Apple about 11. We should state that we *don't* want anything called

Mac OS XI 11.2.3 "Moose". ;)

I didn't remember the "Elephant" first, but of course it makes perfect sense for 11.0. :)
 
I like the X and think it should stay X. I pronounce it OS TEn not OS EX as I used to. I think it should stay that way because it signifies a new era in apple computing.

I was so shocked when I upgraded to X from 9. Apps still quit but it made freezes virtually obsolete even on my 350 mhz G3.

Maybe just call it OSX in genaral and then just refer to the Darwin version when specificity is needed.
