What do you know about Flash 6?

I've been using Flash 6 Beta at work on a PC. It's extermly cool.

But what I really wanted to know was if anyone has played with an OS X version of it.

And also does anyone know when they're going to announce or release it?
 
well, flash 6 player was released today. not sure why i would need it if flash 6 wasn't getting close.;)
 
Flash 6? Geez. I dont have Flash 5 figued out. And i work on it all the time. I hope they get some of the retarted things figured out. It better be more than just more options.

I got flash 6 from Characho (hey I bought flash! nothin wrong with a little beta right?) Anyway, its pretty good. Launches fast and the flash player is actually faster in OSX than the flash 5 player was in OS9! Unfortunantly it is still very buggy. For some reason it unexpectadly quits when I launch it now so I can't give you all a screenshot. I'll post one later if I can.

And yes, I just got used to flash 4 too! I found flash 5 confusing, and flash 6 is basically the same interface.
 
Figured out why it was quitting on me:

When not connected to the internet it says:

"Macromedia Flash MX Beta is unable to connect to the Macromedia Serialization Server. This version of the software will only operate while connected to the internet. This application will now discontinue operation."

When connected to the internet it just quits!

I guess Macromedia is monitering if multiple people are using the same serial, and if that happens they terminate the serial number. Pretty smart. So basically that means that any leaked serials on the net will be worthless within a few days of when their circulated.

*sigh*

It was good while it lasted.

This is really strange, but now Flash works just fine without restarting or anything. Oh well, thats what betas do.

Thanks for the screenshots... they look really good. Seems like they did a good job with the Aqua interface.

So what are your favorite new features? I have a few:
-Distribute to Layers
-Layer Folders
-Distort
-The way it breaks text
-The new panels are pretty cool
-The new tool bar that works like the one in Dreamweaver and PhotoShop

Speaking of PhotoShop... I saw you were running and OS X version of it. How's that working out? Are there any cool things other than the fact that it works in OS X?

By the way that looks like a cool game. Do you have any samples of your work online or maybe something that you could email? I work with Flash full time and I really like seeing what others are doing.

I've only had flash 6 working for a few days now so I really haven't gotten into the features. All I've done is open and work on my game which I originallly made in flash 4. I actually had no idea they added distort! That sounds great for shadows.

Photoshop on OSX rocks. The new brush, the healing brush, is amazing. Its great for superimposing faces and especially textures from one object to another. Also the previews for files when you open them are much better and much faster, as well as the previews for what the file will look like after a filter is applied.

I can email you what I have of the game if you're connection can handle a 3.4MB attachment.

Ohh i think i found it. And it comes with a file that supposedly says how to turn off that connect to the internet thing to submit for serials. Hopefully i'll have it within a week. I just have to wait for it to become availabe for download.

I get almost all my software from Tenacious-C's house of pain. Its got a good variety, no acount needed, and speeds are pretty fast. The address is:

I just uploaded flash 6 mx on the server yesterday. He put it into the graphics folder.
 
anyone know what Resourcer 2.4 is? Or where i can get it or something like it. I just need it for a few moments while i disable the serial checker in Flash 6. My instructions say

<..i removed the instructions..>

That way i can check out Flash without and problems. I just wanna run it and see what it's like. I own flash 4 and 5 and will buy 6. I just want an early preview.
