what if your surfing isn't linear?

morning

supernew
what if you want to access multiple browser windows and actually know what is in them without having to open them? can you create some sort of taskbar like option?

Use tabbed browsing. That way you can see the title of all the open tabs at the top of the browser window. Tabs are well supported in Safari and Firefox (as well as camino etc, only the unbearable IE doesn't support them).

In Safari, try hitting apple-T to open a new tab and see what you think. (If it doesn't work go to preferences>tabbed browsing and check "enable tabbed browsing".

in the other thread, RacerX answered that you can Ctrl-Click (or right-click) on the browser's icon in the Dock and get a menu which shows the open windows (with titles, of course).

in reference to opening new tabs, the easiest way, IMO is holding command while clicking a link, or hitting enter in the google search box etc. it opens in a new tab.
