What is Mirror Agent? Why won't it Quit?

Tried searching for "Mirror Agent" but couldn't find the answer.

Quicksilver G4 - 10.4.3

When shutting down I sometimes get a message that Mirror Agent has not quit and has caused the shut down to fail, and an option to force MA to quit. I do this and it all shuts down OK.

Last time I was in a hurry and I didn't notice the failure so the computer sat waiting for instruction for 48 hours.

It happens from time to time, not always. What is "Mirror Agent"? Someone suggested it was part of a sync to iDisk. But I only have iDisk set up for manual sync.

Is there some setting I can change?

Mirror Agent is part of iDisk. You can open Activity Monitor in your Utility folder and quit it there.

Any reason why it should be running? iDisk is not set on auto sync.

Shouldn't be if not set to sync automatically.

Do you have Nortons AV installed?

No. I threw Norton out a few upgrades ago. I did run the Virex that came free with iDisk for a while, but that's turned off now.

In fact in the .mac system prefs it shows Last Sync as "Never synchronised".

I'll double check that Norton hasn't crept back in somewhere, but it hasn't come up with any checks on download.
