I am looking for 512 RAM strips for the 15 inch G4 Powerbook. I want to get rid of the original factory 2x256 strips and put in 2x512 strips.

Let me know! I already found out the hard way that Kingston RAM causes instability!!

I'm trying my best to order memory from www.crucial.com/uk/ in the past few days but they seem not to like my personal info... The puzzle is that I'm an Amazon UK buyer in an almost monthly basis and so far I had NO problems with the same personal info  Maybe it is because I've ordered stuff for many thousands pounds from Amazon whereareas I've ordered from Crucial some hundreds pounds, only...

Whatever... :D

I 2nd crucial!

I did get one bad ram strip from them, called them up and they immediately fedex'd me out a new one, plus a return box for the bad strip.

I have bought ram from them for my old B&W, for my laser printer, and for my MDD dual 1 GHz.

When I finally get my G5 (or will it be a G6 or G7 by the time I get the money :) ), I won't hesitate to buy my ram for that machine from crucial as well.

Did you check with the vendor in Irvine? Can't he replace the Kingston ram since it never worked? Seems drastic to be running out and buying new memory unless the vendor has left you in the lurch.

I didn't want to make Crucial look bad or something  I just described one experience that I had with them! :( They may be the best in their business sector and then some! :)

Well see the problem is, it seems that Kingston itself is the reason for the compatibility issues. I think I should just have him do an exchange for me (no return ons RAM apparently) and then sell the unopened package on eBay and then just go use that money to buy something better.

is there a performance or compatibility difference between 184 and 200 pin ram?

Yes. They are two different kinds of RAM. You need the 200 pin for your PowerBook, I believe. The 184 wouldn't even fit.
