I just got a dual 1.25 w/ 512 MB of ram. I want to get another Gig of ram (2 512's). ChipMerchant site says it's a DDR 2700 333MHz DDR SDRAM. Is this all the information I need to go to a local BestBuy store? (They don't sell Macs there, but I want to get the memory if they have a good deal.

By "Model Number" I believe Cheryl is referring to the "PC2700."

I've had great success by going to www.crucial.com and doing their "memory finder" service to match my system to it's specific memory.

You have four slots that take PC2700 DDR SDRAM.

Make sure Best Buy has that exact model number. They usually do not carry all the DDR models.

Just to make sure of getting the best price check out these web sites:

I went and got a great deal on Kingston 512 PC2700 333Mhz.. (I wrote it ALL down before I went to the store :)

Best Buy's got Kingston 512's for $39.99 after rebate. ($69.99 instant and $30 from Kingston).

Crazy.. i remember buying 128MB of Ram for $4,777 almost 10 years ago...
