What monitors are compatible with mac g4?

[I just purchased a used g4 without the monitor.Will my Dell pc monitor be compatible until I can purchase an apple monitor?]

any monitor will work with your mac, don't need an apple one. most likely your dell monitor has just a standard vga connector, and all g4's came stock with video cards that 2 ports on them, one of which was a vga port. but to know what the other port is, dvi or adc, we need to know what video card it is.
