What notebook is best for me?

This is the thing, I found an awesome deal on a 17" on ebay, but im worried that a 17 inch might be too big.
 
Personally - as a Laptop, I think the 17" is too big, too bulky and too heavy.
As a Desktop it's great...

I'd rather get a supped up 15".

Just my opinion. :)
 
does installing my own ram void the warranty? Cuz i heard apple is really a rip off when it comes to ram.


and how many slots does it have for ram?
