What program was used to make RealMyst?

I am just curious as to what program (Maya, etc) would have been used to create RealMyst. I have always wanted to create an environment of my own.

I have lots of ideas in sketches that I would really like to put into virtual form like RealMyst.

Myst was made in Apple's QT 4 or 5 and some other 3D tool that will only run under OS 9. If want to mass around with 3D with out forking out the back side. I use DAZ it free and it cross platform windows and Mac OS X. the url is http://www.daz3d.com/ hope that helps and let us see what you come up with.

Also worth mentioning, the open-source application "Blender" offers a great feature set comparable to Maya. And Maya also has a "Personal Learning Edition" available for free download. You won't be able to export from it, and what you create will not open in other versions of Maya, but it is great for learning about 3D design and getting an idea of where you want to take it next.
