I have tried several and some say they do, but don't actually. Some routers don't even work right with MAC. I don't even need to use a wireless one. I just want to find a ROUTER that is a foolproof connection to xbox live and to my iMac G5. Anyone have anything??? Please help, this sucks, been through so many routers.

Well, regarding the Mac issue any router should work with Macs if they're justtrying to access the Internet. The only issues you might encounter with some routers are that they won't route AppleTalk, but for Internet you don't need that. I have a Linksys WRT54G and although it doesn't route AppleTalk, I do have access to the Internet from my iMac G5 and my old Quadra 650. The same should be for your XBOX unless it's a TCP/IP port issue where a port if being blocked by your router.

I've got a D-Link DI-604 and it works flawlessly with two Macintosh computers, one Windows computer and an XBox.
Compatibility with XBox depends more on how your router is configured rather than the brand of router (although there are a select few routers that don't work well with the XBox -- can't point out any specifically, but they do exist). Stick to name-brand routers, configure them properly as per the XBox Live instructions, and you'll be fine.
