OK.....SO i may sound pathetically stupid but whats the difference between 1.5Ghz and the 1.33? Why is the new PB cheaper than the slight early alu ones?

It's a speed bump, 1.5 GHz is 170 MHz faster than 1.33 MHz 
You should see some difference when running a bench mark app like XBench.
The new PBs are cheaper because: Apple found a way to build them cheaper and also include Airport and bluetooth as standard. Or, Apple just decided to drop the price (because cost for parts in general continues to go down)
Sounds like a better deal (unless you just bought a PB last week

well....my order came in last week....and as you do...you take the order. So yes i was juped outta cash....im because not only is the superdrive faster but the processor too.....and the price..well at least £250 cheaper. what a bummer.

Apple have agreed to refund me the difference.....it wasnt £250 but actually £550...So im relieved about this. They are knowingly ashamed to sell me the older book for more...idiots. But its been sorted. OK so its no longer the latest of the latest but at least i have not been suckered into losing money...
i can maybe deal with the fact that i dont have the extra 170Mhz and faster superdrive but allas i have money to burn now!
