when auto-mounting smb shares

I've added all my smb shares on my linux server to automount on my mac during login. This was done by dragging the title at the top of the finder window...

This works fine, however, is there a way to prevent the finder window from opening up once the share is mounted? I have 6 shares that are mounted during login and for each share there is a new finder window. I've checked the "hide" box in the startup list for each mount but that doesn't work.

Any suggestions?

Yeah I hate it when that happens too...

I checked around in ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.*.plist (Finder most thoroughly) to see if there was a hidden preference, but I didn't find one.

If there is such a preference, it'll be in one of those plist files. Check also /Library/Preferences/

i know this is an old topic, but did anybody ever find a way to disable the share window from opening every time you login? i'm looking to do the same with my smb share from 10.4.4 to an windows xp pro box.

any help would be greatly appreciated!
