As there is no Apple Store near me (I'm at college) -- I was wondering if I could go elsewhere to find 10.3? BestBuy? Wal-Mart? Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Brad

Call around. Doubtful BestBuy or Wal-Mart would have it. Any CompUSA or other computer store near you that sell Macs. How about your College store?
You can always order online from Apple or another Mac reseller.

College store doesn't sell it -- nor any other Apple product for that matter. I agree, I didn't think Walmart or Bestbuy would have it -- I'm having trouble, though, looking for a reseller in the area, and CompUSA isn't within 50 miles of me.

Thanks, though, I'll call around.

Where do you live? If you live close to any major city there is bound to be a small mac store owned by some local guys. Especially St. Louis, if you are near there. (See it in your description)

You can also check Compusa. Of course you could always order it online. Amazon.com, Apple.com, numerous others.

When I was at school I had to specifically ask the college store to order mac software. I bet they can order it so you can get it there for educational price.

Of course you could probably get it online through apple's educational store faster.

He wanted to get it today, and ordering online, Fedex won't deliver to a PO Box, which is what he uses.

Yea, as a follow-up -- I checked numerous places around the Easton/Lehigh Valley area, with no luck.

Neither Wal-Mart, Staples, nor Best Buy sell it -- for future reference. In fact, I called around, did some research, and found out that the nearest Apple authorized reseller was in fact (ironically enough) the Apple store in King of Prussia, PA. Yes, incredibly enough, there is not a single Apple authorized reseller within 50 miles of me (King of Prussia being 64 miles away) -- and while I realize that I could have it shipped, there were some complications to the process which would be problematic to the urgency of my situation (essentially needing it to test the new GCC 3.3 compiler on a school owned G5, and a few other compatability tests regarding system-critical operations of the school network) --

Of other interesting note, I contacted my school store and they absolutely refused to purchase Apple software of any sort - much less purchase it at an academic price (though I will simply use Apple's website, for the future).

And yes, in St. Louis there is an Apple store at the West County Mall in Des Peres (which I frequent often when I am home).

As a final note, I'm having it shipped, USPS.

Thanks,

Brad

They refused to buy Apple software? How could they?

Here's what you do: Get a large PC and tape a note to it that says "Get some Apple software." Then, at night, throw it through the window, hopefully breaking something in the store in the process, and run like hell. :D

And you did order it with the edu discount, right?
