Where did my fonts go?

The other day I unzipped a folder with lots of fonts. I used the font manager in OS/X to install the fonts from the directory, however, I did not have "copy fonts to fonts folder" set. Later, I deleted the folder where I originally unzipped the fonts.

When I open up any app, the fonts are there. However, when I open my system fonts folder the fonts that I installed are not there. What gives, where are they?

Perhaps in ~/Library/Fonts?

(~ is the equivalent of your home folder).
