Where do I put IE plugins?

I downloaded a Shockwave 3D plugin from:

but I don't know how to install it. I tried placing it in Root/Library/App Support as well as Root/Library/Internet plugins but it still doesn't allow me to view the contents of this page:

http://www.lightwave3d.com/product/feature_shockwave3d.html

I also tried placing the plugin in IE's hidden Contents folder (control click-show package contents...).

Anyone know where to put IE plugins to get them to work? Thanks.

What you downloaded was a plugin for Lightwave 3D to export 3D scenes as Shockwave. The Internet Explorer Shockwave plugin is located here, and it knows where to install itself:
