where is Display Preferences

System Preferences can't seems to "remember" my multi-head arrangement correctly after each logout. Maybe it got corrupted? I looked all over

~/Library/Preferences

trying to find the Display perf file. Does anyone know where does Apple save those system preferences settings(so I can try to delete it)?

information about display resolution, refresh rate, etc. is in
/Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.plist

I don't have a mulit-head setup, but it's probably safe to assume that this information is in the same place.

I've read on macintouch that is is safe to delete this file (i.e. it recreates it the next time you boot), so it probably wouldn't hurt to chuck it and see if that fixes your problem. (Of course, it's always a good idea to back it up in case deleting it actually does screw things up).
