Why does this app auto start?

I've been testing out an alternative file manager called ForkLift,
Ever since I downloaded it and did the usual dragg app to my Application folder, it has insisted on self starting each and every start-up or log-in.
I've checked my pref-login items and the Apps very own "check this to open at login" is NOT checked, also the Author cant seem to help.
My question is where are are the possible spots (folders etc) I could check to find what is causing this bizarre behavior?

BTW it has done this to me on both Tiger and now Leopard.

Look in /Library/StartupItems
I'm sure you'll see an entry that contains a reference to forklift or the author/company name.

You can lock the start up items list by locking your user account in system preferences and that should keep it from adding itself back to the list.
