Why is my Dual 867 MDD so damn loud?

I swear it sounds like a jet engine going off every time I boot my new G4. By comparison, my laptops make no sound at all.

Last week I installed the Firmware update hoping that would do something but nothing changed. I'm almost to the point of getting ear plugs.
 
You're not the onlyone to think the new powermacs are loud, I've heard alot of people say the same thing. Hope that apple will fix that, who whant to have something loud like that in there office?
 
Yup they are loud pupsters compared to other desktop/mini tower computers.

But's not too bad. I rather have the loud fan and know that it;s properly cooled than to suffer from overheating.

Then again, all my macs have always been louder than my PCs in the fan category.
