Hello!

My laptop can connect to our home's network, but it says (alert! no internet connection.) This is because my roommate changed the password when i was gone, but now whenever i type in the new password it says my laptop cannot connect to the network. My xbox and roommates computer can connect with the new password, buy my Macbook Pro 15" cannot. Any ideas?
 
Could your roommate possibly have put MAC address filtering (MAC is not "Macintosh" -- it's the MAC address of your wi-fi connection) in place on the router, thereby locking your MacBook Pro out of the network?
 
You can ask your roommate to change the password back to the former one and have a try. Then you will know if only the password cause such problem, or others.
