Whenever I try to drag widgets into use, they follow my click drag and immediately disappear. I reinstalled 10.4.2 and nothing has changed. Any ideas because, as of right now, my Dashboard is useless?

The Dashboard icon exists in the dock but, again, the widgets disappear as soon as they are clicked.

Brandon,

My name is Cheryl and I will be assisting you. Have you repaired permissions since the last install?

Go to Applications>Utilities and start up Disk Utility. When that opens, click on the second icon at the top left, then click on Repair permissions.
Repair drive will be grayed out.

When done, quit Disk utility and give Dashboard a try out.

I have repaired my permission several times, but my widgets continue to vanish. Here is the dialog that appears after repairing permissions:

Repairing permissions for “Warren”
Determining correct file permissions.
We are using special permissions for the file or directory ./Library/Widgets. New permissions are 16877
We are using special permissions for the file or directory ./usr/lib/php/build/acinclude.m4. New permissions are 33060

Permissions repair complete
The privileges have been verified or repaired on the selected volume

Please advise.

Thank you,

Warren
