Wifi Adapter

Hi,

I was wondering what wifi adapters (usb) of course would work with a mac?
Because I only see the damn windows on the boxes!
Hope someone has the answer.

I think almost all do work. I have a Belkin and it works. They are all configured through a browser once plugged in. I think the OS X Network under System Preferences picks up the presence of the unit once it is plugged in.

Belkin's model F5D7050 (newer revision) will. You just have to download the OS X drivers / support app from their website. It works alright, but that program is bloody annoying.

I normally use Linksys equipment but was in a hurry that day and CompUSA was out of the small, cheap USB version that I was seeking. I don't even recall having to load any software but it could have been. It was easy enough that I do not recall having issues.

I bought a Linksys wusb54gcm wireless usb adapter. The guy at the store said it would work with my G4 Quicksilver with 10.4. I went to the Apple website, which has a link to the www.orangeware.com site. Should this driver work with what I got? When I set the driver up, it told me that there was no card detected. Is this driver only for cards?

Do I need a driver? If so, where do I get it? If not, how do I configure the OS so that it works? I have no idea what to do when I look at the network window in system preferences. System profiler tells me that there is a linksys usb wireless adapter plugged in, but that's the only indication that the adapter is there. Network under "System preferences" does not seem to say anything about it.
