Will a Windows 1394 PCI card work in OS 8?

Somewhere... dunno though
I have a 1394 PCI card that's made for Windows. Would that same card work in this old mac running OS 8.1? The Mac OS documentation says that FireWire has been in Macs since OS 7.5, so I think it will work.

It's a Maxtor 1394 PCI Adapter Card...

According to Maxtor's website it says it will work with Mac OS 8.6 and higher but its worth a try otherwise it might be best to upgrade to 8.6.
