Windows wont allow my macbook to enter shared folder

hey ppl

i shared a folder on my windows PC, and i can access it with other windows computers..

now, im trying to access that shared folder with my macbook, and it wont let me in, i put the correct user and pass for that windows machine so that cant be it..

Are you getting any error messages, or can you describe the problem more?

the error is something like "The alias xxx could not be opened because the original item could not be found."

I'd try connecting directly, using smb://<ip-of-your-PC>

Have you tried disabling any firewalls? Obviously, you don't want them off all the time, but for testing, it's good to eliminate variables..
