Wiping Clean a Mac For Sale

Hello,

I would like to ask the following: I am planning to sell a MacBook Pro to a colleague. The MBP has Lion installed, and there exists just one user account in it (my wife's, who uses it). Since the buyer wants to minimize the hassle of setting it up again when he buys it, he asked me to leave the OS as it is and just wipe my data before giving it to him.

However, I am not sure if this can work... Could deleting the user account wipe out all traces of my wife's (and mine, too...) personal info, including things such as e.g. the network password of our home router? I want to be 100% certain that the MBP will go to the new owner completely clean from any type of our data, so I would like to know which is the best course to follow in order to achieve this.

Thanks in advance.

Don't forget that Lion is installed through YOUR Apple ID, so if the new owner changes to their own Apple ID, then Lion probably won't reinstall (if that is needed in the future.) unless they purchase Lion for their own use.
So, don't give a potentially-crippled system.
Wipe and reinstall from the OS X install DVD that you will provide with that MacBook Pro. That's the safest for you, and the least hassle for the new owner.
