wired g5 doesn't connect, wireless mb does using airport extreme

I just purchased an Airport Extreme base station and I hooked up the ethernet cable from my cable modem to the wan port on the base station as instructed, and then hooked up the ethernet cable from my G5 to the lan port.
I followed the instructions in the book exactly and my Wireless macbook (2.0 C2D) connects to the internet fine. The problem is that my wired G5 does not connect to the internet. Has anyone else experienced this? if anyone can help me through this I would be forever greatful!

yes i had same problem not with airport....
I bought used g5 and the OSX tiger had been cloned. same problem, I cloned my g4 same problem.

suggest you do
1. a clean os install via disks
2. if not solved create new network connection profile for all possible interfaces etc.
3. check internet provider has not barred mac address BIA (not Ip address)
