I've been trying to get my G4 iBook to communicate with my Sony Vaio GRT240G. I had them both talking to each other, but I had to reload my XP system. Now I cannot get my iBook to see my Vaio. The Vaio can navigate through the iBook.
All networks are the same, all workgroups are the same, all WEP keys are identical, but all information is mono-directional. I'm sharing an internet connection through a router, but that should make no difference to the ad hoc (computer-to-computer) network. As I understand this, with everything set to automatic, the iBook should find the Vaio automatically. I tried to connect directly through smb:// and through the local address to no avail; even using the ip address didn't work.
Any help?
