Wireless networks - new imac user

i have just made the switch from pc to an iMac (running OS X), and have a problem with my wireless network. I can get the iMac to recognise the network and access the web, but then (on a fairly frequent basis) the iMac loses the Network. I then run Network diagnostics and it re finds the network. The network is a Dell Truemobile, and the signal strength is full. Does anyone know how i stop this problem

Could be interference. Try ticking the enable Interference Robustness box or setting the channel manually instead of leaving it automatic.

Which model of the Dell Truemobile are you using? (the model number) I have had issues with the Truemobile (though have not found a reliable solution) that is a cross platform issue, not just a Mac issue.

i have tried Interference Robustness and a mannual connecttion, but these do not help. However i have a full strength signal.

re the truemobile model question i have a truemobile 1150 model

By the way the break on comms only happens when i am downloading a large file - fine for general internet use.

Do you have a lot of other wireless networks that are available to you? One recomendation that Dell makes is to change the channel on your wireless router.
