Is a printserver absolutely required to have wireless printing? Those gadgets are pretty expensive.
I want to set up the printer in our office across from where the computer is- wiring wouldn't be pretty (or practical, either, since it'd probably be tripped upon). Is using a wireless USB-Ethernet thingy feasible? What would the difference be between that and a printserver? I also have a Linksys wireless router lying around (got Qwest and now have their wireless modem, rendering my Linksys router to paperweight status). Any way I could convert that to a printserver of sorts?
I'm just looking for ideas or creative alternatives become I succumb to getting a printserver- saw one from DLink for 70 bucks, ugh.
