.wmv files not working

I've been trying to play .wmv files on my macbook but there's no audio.
I searched for some answers already. I tried turning garageband on and then quitting, that didn't work. I went to Utilities>Audio MIDI setup and actually have no Audio Output! Says it's not supported...is there anyway to fix this, if that is the problem?

Are you using Flip4Mac or Perian for the WMV and WMA files? Remember that if the WMV/WMA files are DRM protected, you won't be able to view them on anything other than Windows Media Player in Windows.

Oh no, I'm not, i had no idea. I've been able to hear .wma files without a hitch, just these wmv ones that are giving me trouble. So i should download flip4mac?

Yes. As a matter of fact, Microsoft points Mac users to Flip4Mac as a way to play WMV files. Just remember that the DRMed WMV files will not work with Flip4Mac.

I hate working with wmv files, so I just convert all of them to better formats with Easy WMV.
