Won't restart after low battery power

My husband was running our Powerbook G4 on battery power. It told him that he was going to be running on reserve battery power, so he picked up the AC adapter to plug it in. Before he could, it shut off. Now we can't get it back on at all. We plugged it in and waited a while; nothing.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?
 
It will have went into 'sleep' mode before it shut down completely I think..After you connect the mains adapter, hold down the on-off button for at least 7 seconds and see if anything happens then..hopefully it should now restart, or if it's still in 'sleep' mode it should shut down.If so you can then start up your machine as normal.
