I received my first mac last Thursday. It's an iMac G3 running Panther.
Now. It was going fine until i started it up today. I was horrified to find that all my files and settings were gone.
I then looked around it and found that my files were under my user account but not in my HD (if that makes sense)
So basically my files aren't in their default location so programs like iTunes don't open my music files because their not where they're supposed to be.
My mac doesn't seem to save any changes anymore. I've also lost my bookmarks. If i change what's in the dock, the wallpaper or anything like that and restart or shut down, when it boots it's all reverted back to the default wallpaper and the dock is back to how it was before hand.
Obviously this is very frustrating and i'm not sure what to do to get it back to normal.
