What about WU-ftpd?

http://www.wu-ftpd.org/

Does this work on Jaguar? Has anyone successfully compiled WU-FTPd on a Jaguar machine? I rather like WU-FTPd for Linux, and I'm rather well-versed in their configuration ;)

If nobody's tried it, I'll give the compile a shot when my Jag CD arrives (5 weeks hence  )

wu-ftpd was the default ftp server in OS X Server 10.1 (not sure if it still is in 10.2).

I'm sure it will compile fine on the client version as well. But then again, given the history of exploits against wu-ftpd, you may be better off with another daemon altogether.

I've got the client 10.1 and will have the client Jag; didn't realise it was the default FTP server for 10.1 Server, cool :)

Somehow, I knew you'd respond ha!
You must be a sysadmin that deals with FTP a lot?

Thanks G.!

That's what 10.2 Server uses. The GUI is a litte more expanded than what was in 10.1. In 10.1 you could only set the number of users and nothing else. 10.2 has a lot more stuff.

It is missing something major chmod
You can't change permissions via ftp which really sucks.
