X Win browsers?

Has anyone gotten a web browser to run under X windows on OS X? The sad state of browsers on OS X has me longing for Konqueror (not gonna happen methinks) or even Mozilla or Netscape.

There are versions of Mozilla for OS X that run nice and quickly, but can't load about 1/2 the webpages I use and lack any serious functionality.

What sorts of pages are you having problems with? I use Gecko-based browsers all the time (mostly Fizzilla-CFM and Mach-O) and almost never run into pages they can't handle. About the only pages that fail are ones where the website uses bad browser-sniffing code and serves up a page with Netscape 4.x specific Layers stuff that doesn't exist in Gecko.

As far as X-Windows browsers go, both Mozilla and Dillo can be installed under Darwin with XFree86 by using the Fink package system: http://fink.sourceforge.net

...I categorically discount everything Microsoft does, BUT...IE 5.1 for Mac OS X works the best overall for me, and that includes the current iterations of iCab, Opera, OmniWeb (which is OUTSTANDING) but has compatibility issues, plus Netscape 6.2, which also works great.

Speaking of Mozilla and fink:

I tried to install Mozilla today using fink. It got as far as saying it was configuring then pretty much locked my whole system (DP 800) up! Couldn't even Force Quit. Just got the spinning disk cursor. This isn't normal is it? It didn't even do that with bundle-gnome. This sucks, cause Dillo pretty much bites. I want Moz dammit!

I'm wondering if it's the fink selfupdate I did this morning. I noticed it updated fink to 0.9.9-1 or something like that.

Any ideas?

Isn't Netscape 6.2.2 a Mozilla derivative? It renders beautifully, but is slow compared to IE 5.1, Opera, and OmniWeb. My test machine is an iMac 333 with 512 MB RAM, 60 GB ATA 66 hard disk and OS X 10.1.3 on an 8 GB HFS+ partition.
