Androo

Yeah, Androo.

X Window System??????????????????
what is it supposed to do, how does it work, and why the hell did i download it.....................
ah well

X11 is the window system on most Unix machines, including Linux and Sun systems.

There are thousands of X11 programs for very specialised tasks, such as 3D design and graphics, engineering, electronics, medical, surveying and even a fair number of games.

There are a handful of apps for the average consumer that are also considered indispensible. Among these is OpenOffice, or its commercial derivative Sun StarOffice. Also, the Gimp, a design program comparable to PhotoShop.

By implementing X11 on Mac OS X, Apple are making it even easier for us to port these powerful applications over to the mac. All you have to do is compile them, and away you go. Dozens of X11 programs have already been ported thanks to the Fink project.

Of course, if you don't use - or indeed even know of - any of these apps then X11 is really not all that useful to you.
