X3 Terran Conflict not starting...

I just installed X3 Terran Conflict on my Mac OS X and every time I start it it comes up then closes. What am I doing wrong? I've tried restarting the computer and I've tried updating my software...

Have you applied all updates to the game? X3 requires some updates to run correctly under Lion (Mac OS X 10.7):

Note that if you installed the game from Apple's App Store, you will need to obtain your updates there instead of downloading them from the web page I linked to. If you installed the game from a CD/DVD or some method OTHER than Apple's App Store, you should download the updates from that web page and install them that way.
