XEphem 3.5 for X on OSX is out.

This may be more appropriate under the review section, but I thought it was a nice example of developers thinking about all those folks who run X on OS X.

If anyone is interested, XEphem, a really cool astronomy program, now offers a no brainer installer for running it on XDarwin. I had 3.4 running, but there were some errors and it often brought down XDarwin with it, but the latest version seems to be rock solid. Even if you aren't interested in astronomy, its a great app to show off your X on X set up.

I'm afraid the way Apple displays this on their site (under the new this week section) will lead many people to think this is an native OS X app (they have a screen shot of it on OroborousOSX), and the fine print about requirements is easy to miss, but maybe it will inspire more people to get X up and running? They do have a new UNIX Apps & Utilities section, and I'll be sure to keep my eye on that.
