xp to imac G5 wireless internet share

I've read loads of threads on this sort of topic but can't seem to find an exact answer.
I've set up a computer to computer network with my G5 IMAC connected to the internet through a USB ADSL modem. I'm trying to connect my laptop running XP to it and share the internet through the Airport card on the G5.

The laptop can see and connect to the G5 even with WEP but as soon as I turn on internet sharing on the Mac, the laptop loses the network connection.

If I turn off the WEP then I can connect but I do not want an open network. Any ideas?

How have you got Internet sharing setup? It should be setup to share the connection from the USB modem to Airport, not the other way around.
 
The USB modem is connected to the iMAC. The iMAC is set up to share the internet from the speedtouch USB to computers using Airport. The laptop running XP (ACER) then connects to the iMAC wirelessly.
 
Please ignore this post. I've done the sensible thing and bought a wireless router and ADSL modem combined.
