Yahoo won't give email to father of dead soldier

I think Yahoo is being a little absurd here. The father is the executor of his son's estate. Why can't he have his email? Note, the father and son exchanged many emails and talked about saving and printing out all their discussions and letters, but then the soldier was killed. The father says he wants the emails for his other younger children so they can come to know, via his writing, their brother.

I wonder why the dad doesn't have an archive of both sent and received emails from the son. It's a sad situation, but I can understand Yahoo's policy and would applaud it in a less emotional context.

His father should get ahold of an attorney ASAP. Not sure about Michigan, but the executor of an estate in Kentucky has full legal power of attorney for the deceased. It should be the same in most other states, otherwise it'd be almost impossible to do their job.

Yahoo! is thumbing the law here, hopefully MI's Attorney general or someone else sets them straight. Their (Yahoo!) ignorance on this matter makes me sick.

I agree. I hope this isn't something political because political bickering has absolutly no place here.
