(yes, PC World is produced on Macs).

Don't forget that for many PC user's, the Mac is just a specialized PC. A little bit like the Linux box they have for server.

Industry standard, no big surprise. What gets me, a lot of people think it's the other way around, since they use PCs, they figure designers are a majority PC base.

i dont see it as ironic at all, ive worked for publications, and AFAIK nearly all publications are made on macs... it would be ironic say if Microsoft.com was served on osx server.. not this though, this is normal every day life.

Interesting thread. I really had no idea how much Macs were used in the "real world"

Gives me some hope that i might not be made to use a PC later in life. :p

I bet they're programming Longhorn on those nifty G5's Microsoft bought...

Wo Baby!! They're already programming Longhorn. How time flies. They should be done by what, 2010. I wonder if they'll start cutting jobs with all the time the save on their macs. He he he. And if they're site uses Xserves maybe their site won't die this week from the viruses attacks. :D

It IS ironic! :p

If Windows platform was all high and mighty for all kind of business like M$ tries to convince us + the Unix and Linux people (and even some mods/people of www.macosx.com try to support that claim  ) then it would be pretty easily to switch DTP, graphic designers, et al to the Dark Side! But it seems the Force is strong in creative areas! :)

However, it seems to me (and hopefully to others as well) that Apple must be doing something correctly in those areas and indeed their platform rules -no questions asked- there! :p :D

If PCWorld says it in that way:
(yes, PC World is produced on Macs)
It must be ironic! If it was business as usual, they wouldn't even mentioned it!

As for M$, guess what? From July 2003 and up until the end of November 2003 (when they installed Windows 2003 Server), MOST of their online servers were indeed running Linux! But where exactly did you read that? :p

:)

Many people outside the design world, or Mac addicts, don't realise how important Macs are to graphic design and layout-oriented businesses. And for the layman, it is ironic that a magazine devoted to the PC world is created using Macs.
You're just too dang elitist, Jason. Hang with the proles some time. :)
