Yet another enhancing question.....

Qion

Uber Nothing
Alright guys, I know that all of us are sick of posts involving interface enhancement, but hopefully I can sum up a bunch of new posts into one:

Q:1 - Is there any FREEWARE app out there that lets you EASILY change(System) icon sets?

Q:2 - Is there any FREEWARE app out there that lets you EASILY manipulate your system interface? (Ex. CandyBar'esqe app)

Thanks pre-emptly to all replies!

Not that I know of.

You can try out Shapeshifter, but I think they want $20 from you, eventually.

It's all about the Benjamins, baby.

You're a programmer right Adam? Why is changing the interface so hard/expensive? Or is this just what the market is now?

Lol. I am not a programmer. I do mostly Audio and Video, and have a bit of graphics expertise mixed with a little HTML... but... uh...

Why is changing the interface so hard? Well, all of the user elements you see on the screen in Mac OS X are graphics... every button, every "frame" of the animation of a button pulsing.... everything is a graphics file... PDF format, I believe.... and stored in some sort of special way. What Shapeshifter does is REPLACE those graphics in the RAM memory.... the old-fashioned way used to be manually replacing those files, and endangering the integrity of your installed system software.

Why expensive? Well.... lol, I can't program it. And I doubt many people here COULD do that... and would want to do it for FREE...

Lol sorry for the mistake. I've done some graphic layouts for a Palm user interface before and I know how hard it is. I wouldn't want to do it for free either, thats just not how the world works now is it?
